On the 27th of May 2025, Manovikas Special School for Mentally Disabled Children, located in the heart of Kollam, Kerala, had the distinguished honour of hosting Brigadier Suresh G along with members of the Karunagapally Sainika Koottayma (KSK). This visit was a deeply meaningful occasion that celebrated unity, compassion, and the shared responsibility of building an inclusive society.

Manovikas Special School has long been a pillar of support for children with intellectual disabilities, offering them not just education but also care, therapy, and empowerment. The presence of a respected figure like Brigadier Suresh G served as a powerful reinforcement of the school’s mission and values. The delegation from KSK, a local ex-servicemen's group, further emphasized the importance of community participation in nurturing every section of society.

The event began with a warm welcome ceremony, where students, staff, and parents gathered to greet the guests. The children, dressed in colourful attire, presented welcome songs and showcased their talents through cultural performances. These moments were met with heartfelt applause and appreciation from Brigadier Suresh and the KSK members, whose encouraging smiles lit up the faces of our students.

Brigadier Suresh G took time to personally interact with the children, visiting classrooms, therapy rooms, and activity areas. His genuine interest, kind words, and personal connection with the students were deeply moving. In his brief address, he commended the dedicated staff and teachers of Manovikas for their relentless efforts in providing specialized care and education. He also acknowledged the strength, resilience, and potential of the children, reminding everyone present that disability is not a limitation, but simply a different way of experiencing the world.

The members of Karunagapally Sainika Koottayma echoed this sentiment, expressing their commitment to support institutions like Manovikas through ongoing collaboration and community outreach. Their solidarity was not only symbolic but also practical—reinforcing the idea that inclusion is a collective responsibility that extends beyond families and educators to society as a whole.

For our students and staff, this visit was more than a ceremonial event—it was an inspiring moment that boosted morale and reaffirmed the value of their work and potential. For the families present, it was a moment of pride, seeing their children appreciated and acknowledged by senior members of the armed forces and respected community leaders.

At Manovikas, we believe that every act of kindness, recognition, and support helps build a more accepting and inclusive world. The visit by Brigadier Suresh G and KSK stands as a shining example of how leaders can lead not only by command but by compassion and presence.

We express our sincere gratitude to Brigadier Suresh G and the Karunagapally Sainika Koottayma for their thoughtful visit, encouraging words, and unwavering support. We look forward to continued collaboration and more such meaningful interactions in the future.
