At Manovikas Special School for Mentally Disabled Children, we believe that volunteers are the heart of our mission. While our teachers, therapists, and staff form the backbone of our daily operations, it is the generous spirit and selfless contribution of volunteers that help us reach farther, do more, and serve better.
Volunteering is not just about offering time—it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special needs. Our volunteer management system is carefully designed to ensure that this contribution is purposeful, impactful, and fulfilling—for both our students and the volunteers themselves.
Role of Volunteer Management
The Volunteer Management Department at Manovikas is responsible for organizing and overseeing every stage of a volunteer's journey—from recruitment and orientation to training, engagement, and appreciation.
Our primary responsibilities include:
- Recruiting Dedicated Volunteers: We actively seek individuals who are compassionate, committed, and eager to work with children with intellectual and developmental challenges. Volunteers may be students, homemakers, professionals, retirees, or corporate groups—anyone who has the heart to serve.
- Interviewing and Screening: Every potential volunteer goes through an initial interaction and screening process to understand their skills, availability, and suitability for different roles within the school. This helps us place them in areas where they can make the most impact—whether it’s assisting in the classroom, supporting therapy sessions, or helping with events.
- Training and Orientation: Working with children with special needs requires sensitivity, patience, and understanding. We conduct structured orientation sessions to familiarize volunteers with our mission, safety guidelines, student behavior, and basic communication strategies.
- Ongoing Supervision and Support: Volunteers are never left to navigate the work alone. We provide guidance and assign experienced staff to mentor and support them throughout their engagement.
- Appreciation and Recognition: We celebrate our volunteers. Whether through appreciation certificates, annual gatherings, or spotlight features on our website and social media—we ensure their contribution is recognized and valued.

Our Causes .

FUNDRAISING
Every charity exists to raise money for its cause through fundraising, but there is more to charity work than going door to door rattling a tin! Fundraisers, or trust fundraisers, often need to apply for funding from large organisations by putting together funding proposals.

CHARITY AND SOCIAL WELFARE
Many nonprofit groups exist to serve the public good, including providing healthcare, counseling, and shelter. These organizations are tax-exempt due to the relief and assistance they offer, which in turn helps reduce government spending. We are proud to be one of them.

EDUCATION
Several nonprofit organizations work to improve education. Education is an essential part of every child's life. We are committed to providing quality education to children with mental disabilities. Our dedicated teaching faculty delivers highly recommended and personalized instruction to support each child’s growth and development.
